As the State's convening agency for conversations about STEM education and employment, COMSTEC maintains a Government Relations Committee to discuss, review and make recommendations regarding public policy at the federal, state and local levels. Participation in the Government Relations Committee is open to all members.
COMSTEC’s Government Relations Committee covers all aspects of policy affecting STEM, from Federal and State Legislation to site-based practices and partnerships. COMSTEC is active on many fronts, including the
NGA STEM Grant, and numerous state and local initiatives. (link to CO STEM Centers section).
The Government Relations Committee meets regularly on a year-round basis, with quarterly gatherings and monthly conference calls. The Committee monitors numerous educational initiatives, such as the P-20 Council, Graduation Guidelines Development Council, Quality Teachers Commission and Online Learning Advisory Board. 2008 initiatives include:

Discussion Board: In partnership with
eColorado COMSTEC maintains a discussion board where members and others may post their ideas and suggestions concerning STEM Policy. Matters raised on the Discussion Board will be addressed by the Government Relations Committee
